With the assistance of some additional historic material, it has now been confirmed that the David McKay (#009) selected in 1897 was in fact his brother, Joe McKay, a five-eighth, also from the Greymouth club.
For this reason we have amended the Player number to be West Coast Cap Number 0040 (A)
