West Coast Rugby Union Independent Board Members (2 Required)<\/p>\n
The West Coast Rugby Union invites applications for two vacancies for the positions of Independent
\nBoard Members. Both appointments will be for a three year term commencing 6 March 2019.<\/p>\n
The West Coast Rugby Union\u2019s purpose is to lead, grow, support and promote rugby in the region.
\nThe organisation is responsible for both the delivery of community rugby as well as representative
\nteams, including the Premier team in the Heartland Championship. In partnership with the local clubs
\nit contributes to the fabric of the local community by providing safe and enjoyable sporting
\nopportunities. The Union has a turnover in excess of $500,000 and over 1000 registered players.<\/p>\n
The roles require a corporate governance focus, with responsibilities for setting the strategic direction
\nfor rugby in the West Coast region and monitoring the performance of all aspects of the business,
\nwhile taking into account the interests of all relevant stakeholders. The selection panel will make their
\ndecision based on a set Skills Matrix that requires candidates with experience in:<\/p>\n

\n\u00b7 Legal and Human Resources
\n\u00b7 Sports Governance
\n\u00b7 Marketing and Revenue Generation.<\/p>\n
Although knowledge of and empathy for rugby are beneficial, it is not necessarily a pre-requisite of
\nthe positions.<\/p>\n
Independent Board Members must not be, or on appointment must immediately cease to be, either an
\nemployee of the West Coast Rugby Union, or a member of the Council of Clubs.<\/p>\n
The appointments are for a 3 year term and are appointed ,not elected, positions.<\/p>\n
