Crusaders Cook For West Coast “Good Sorts”
29th January 2013
Two “Good Sorts” of the West Coast’s Rugby fraternity were rewarded for decades of volunteer work for their respective clubs on Monday night, by having members of the Crusaders squad visit their houses to cook dinner for them.
Blaketown R.F.C’s Gary Sara and his wife Patsy were spoilt with Dan Carter, Shane Christie and Nepo Laulala cooking up a storm on the bbq at the Sara’s Greymouth home, while in Ross, South Westland R.F.C’s Sam Viney and his wife Christine had Crusaders George Whitelock, Joel Everson and Coach Tabai Matson treating them to the delights of a home cooked meal.
All West Coast rugby clubs were asked to nominate their “Good Sort” for a chance of having Crusaders cook for them, with Sara and Viney chosen for the incredible work they’ve done for their clubs over the years.
Also treated were Community “Good Sorts” Nicki and Tim Mora, for their tireless work in the community. Tim and Nicki had the pleasure of Ryan Crotty, Kieran Fonotia and Wyatt Crockett to cook and spend time with.
