The West Coast Rugby 125th Jubilee celebrations on Saturday August the 29th have taken on a mouthwatering twist, with the news that West Coast’s Heartland clash that day will be against their closet rival Buller, a match that will also double as a Rundle Cup match.
With the exciting events to mark the 125th Jubilee already well in the advanced planning stage, the good size crowd that was expected to watch West Coast play that day will no doubt swell in numbers with Buller being confirmed as West Coast opponents.
West Coast R.F.U chairman Colin Smith said that it’s a dream result for West Coast, and very apt we are playing are closest neighbour and old rival and after intense battles that have taken place over the 100 years or so. “This will be a game you cannot afford to miss as both teams will no doubt be playing at a significantly greater intensity than usual” Smith said.
Buller who currently hold the Rundle Cup, will no doubt have a large travelling group of supporters who’ll be keen to cheer their side on in a game that West Coast will desperate to win to help put the icing on the cake of the Jubilee celebrations.
