Young West Coast Rugby Player Chosen as Flag Bearer for Super Rugby Semi-Final

photo1crusWests RFC player 9 year old Connor Greig from Hokitika, has won the chance to represent the West Coast as a flag bearer at this Saturday night’s massive Super Rugby Semi-Final, between the Crusaders v Sharks at AMI Stadium in Christchurch.

Connor will join fellow junior rugby representatives from all other Crusaders provinces as flag bearers in front of the players tunnel, as the Crusaders and Sharks players storm out onto the AMI turf for what should be an enthralling semi-final encounter.

Connor’s Mother Cindy entered him into a competiton on the Crusaders facebook page to find the flag bearers, and as a lucky winner he’ll also get two tickets to the game, get to watch the teams warm up from the side lines, as well as be given a special behind the scenes look at AMI Stadium.

Huge Crusader fan Connor said he was thrilled to win the competiton to get to be a part of the big day, as well as to see his heroes play up close. “I just want to thank my Mum for entering me in the competition and to thank the Crusaders for the awesome prize”. Connor will be accompanied on the day at the game by his granddad and fellow Crusaders supporter, Kevin Greig.
